Good News From Sinai

I know today the Lord heard all of our prayers! Hunter went into OR this morning at 8:25, like his usual brave little self. Around 9:30 the doctor was out to see us with good news.  The doctor did not need to move any pin sites and didn’t need to cut out any of the skin.  Once in OR they only needed to make adjustments to the fixator. Hunter has had a lot of firsts this week.  Hunter’s fixator was made into a convertible as they cut the top of the ring down. This was to give him more room to move without touching the fixator. The fixator was moved away from the body further with a one of a kind angle. But the doctor said he still had great hip placement and great range of motion. Dr. Standard also used rubber stoppers on the pins for the first time ever to hold down the sponges without any gauze wraps. Everything looked absolutely wonderful after returning from OR. Mom and I could not be more pleased with Dr. Standard, his work, and his 5 star bedside manners.  The staff at Sinai has also been top notch. PTs, RNs, pediatricians, housekeeping, and even maintenance have been wonderful. This evening was the least stressful night we have had since Wednesday. We should be able to leave the hospital and return to the RMH tomorrow. This emergency procedure today will not slow any recovery. Unfortunately, it will push back our physical therapy a bit. We are still hopeful that we may be able to come home to our family and friends this coming weekend; keeping our fingers crossed. Praise the Lord for a good day, and God bless you all for your thoughts and prayers!!

Love,
